Margaret C. Hart

Margaret (Maggie) Craig Hart, 90, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 17, 2023. She was born in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, SC on November 29, 1932.  She was the daughter of the late Benjamin T. Craig Sr. and the late Margaret Sheedy Craig.  Maggie was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Culbert M. Hart; her brother Benjamin T. Craig, Jr.; and two sons, Patrick D. Hart and Robert T. Hart. 

Maggie had a long and successful career, retiring from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as the Equal Employment Manager. She was also an officer in the Federal Managers Association and a member of the Naval Civilian Management Association

She is survived by her son, Michael J. Hart (Andresa) of Mount Pleasant, SC; daughter-in-law, Cindy Bailey Hart; and two grandchildren, Christopher T. Hart (Amy), Christina Hart O'Connor (Jim); three great grandchildren; and extended family: Ilanna Padden McKenna (Andrew) and Larissa Padden. 

Her memorial service will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm followed by inurnment at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends a half hour before the service.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the ALS Association.
