Margaret S. Gander, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of James W. Gander entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 6, 2014.

Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 in Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1605 Harbor View Road at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel.

Margaret was born May 12, 1925 in Eagle River, Wisconsin, daughter of Jacob Schlarp and Wilhelmina Spiess Schlarp. She worked for the Eagle River, WI draft board during World War II and in later years as a secretary at Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton, WI. She was a member of Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children, Joan C. Gander (Pastor Stephen G. Cooper) of Charleston, SC, Walter N. Gander (April) of Eagle River, WI, Emily Hewitt (David) of New York, NY and Dorothy K.G. Bear (David) of Fort Myers, FL; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Margaret was predeceased by her brother, Norman Schlarp and her sister, Dorothy Schlarp Gromoll.
