Margaret "Peggy" McCue Freymuth, age 84, of Summerville, South Carolina, the beloved wife of the late Wayne Albert Freymuth, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family and friends who will remember her warmth and vibrant spirit.
Born on October 11, 1940, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Peggy was the cherished daughter of the late Carrere McCue and the late Gladys Graham McCue. Growing up in the picturesque Old Village of Mount Pleasant, she developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of life, fondly recalling sailing trips with her father and traveling adventures with her mother.
Peggy was an individual of remarkable intellect, having earned a master's degree from the University of South Carolina. Her unwavering loyalty to her alma mater was evident in her passionate support for the Gamecocks. Additionally, her love for sports shone brightly as she became a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, showcasing her extensive knowledge of stats and players.
Though Peggy enjoyed a brief stint in teaching, she ultimately found her greatest joy and fulfillment in being a homemaker. She wholeheartedly dedicated herself to her family, never missing Anne's many softball games and consistently providing encouragement and support. Her pride in her grandchildren was boundless; she spoke of them with immense affection, relishing every opportunity to share their accomplishments.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Anne Freymuth Carter (Shane) of Huger, SC. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Harleigh Lynn Beane and William Tanner Beane, also of Huger, SC, and Addison Alfano (Nick) of Summerville, along with two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Walker McCue.
Her legacy of love, wisdom, and unwavering support will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. Peggy will be remembered for her vivacious spirit and the warmth she brought into the lives of her family and friends. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 7:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.
