Margaret Anne Elliott, 92, of Ladson, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 2, 2025. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
Margaret was born May 26, 1933 in Arco, Georgia, daughter of the late Percy Ricks and the late Annie Mae DeLoach Ricks.
After graduating high school, Margaret joined the U.S. Air Force where she enjoyed playing competitive softball and basketball. During her time on the softball team, she played against a Canadian team during Queen Elizabeth IIs coronation tour. She served in a leadership role the Girl Scouts of America in GA, IL, and SC for several years which also led to her to being a CPR instructor for the Red Cross. In her forties, she became a certified LPN and worked as a nurse at Roper Hospital downtown Charleston, SC.
She is survived by children: Jan Elliott of Ladson, SC and Richard H. Elliott of Augusta, GA; grandchildren: Nichole Boles (Justin) of Chapin, SC and Christopher Elliott Brunner (Carrie) of KY; great grandchildren: Cohen and Chandler Brunner; sister, Victoria Slichter of Florence, Italy; brother, John Percival Ricks of Port Angeles, WA; and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Helen R. Hardin and her stepmother, Lois Holtzendolf Ricks.
Graveside services will be at Palmetto Cemetery, Brunswick Georgia at 11:00 am Saturday, November 29, 2025. Family will be receiving friends at that time.
