Margaret Mary Drouillard

Margaret Drouillard, 84, passed away on April 21, 2023 in the company of her son Charles. She was born in Detroit, MI and spent her life as the faithful wife of Charles W Drouillard for 56 years until his passing in 2015. She raised four children - Suzette, Lisa, Charles, and Maria and was also a respiratory therapist and a real estate agent in Michigan and New Jersey. She was the eldest of four fantastic sisters and loved animals, singing in her church choir, and God. She met her future husband in the back seat of a car while carpooling to University of Detroit. She loved to bake peach flips at Christmas and Easter as well as Polish food like stuffed cabbage and pierogis. She always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger.    She was an avid quilter, a faithful supporter of her husband's many stamp shows and a Lioness Club president in northern Michigan. She grew up in Lincoln Park, MI, attended University of Detroit but was soon married and raising children. As a registered respiratory therapist, she worked in downtown Detroit hospitals as well as in Alabama and at a VA hospital in NJ. She was  a realtor in Bellaire MI in her later years.

She is survived by her four children Suzette Mckee (Dennis) of McKinney TX, Lisa Drouillard of Livonia MI, Charles A. Drouillard (Jeri) of Mt Pleasant, SC and Maria Drouillard of Canton MI. Her sisters are Patricia Poirier (Phillip) of Boulder, CO, Helen Morello (Gerald) of Brooklyn, MI, Lorraine Brooks (Jerry) of Trenton, MI and Barbara Ketter of Flat Rock, MI. She leaves four grandchildren, Stephanie Syntscha (Michael) of Flemington, NJ, Jessica Ostrander of Westland, MI, Alex Drouillard of Mt Pleasant SC, and Natalie Drouillard of Mt Pleasant SC. She leaves one great grandchild Avery Syntscha of Flemington, NJ, whom she was able to meet just a few months ago.

Visitation will be Monday, May 1, 2023 at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd. from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. A funeral mass will be at Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC on Tuesday May 2nd at 10:30 am followed by a reception at Grace Hall.
