Margaret Jane Cauthen Chattman, 70, of Summerville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 14, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Northwoods Chapel.

Jane was born January 21, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late William Jackson Cauthen and Edith Dukes Cauthen DuPuis. Jane was named after her loving Aunt Margaret Corvette of Waynesville, NC. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister and friend. She enjoyed trips to the mountains, cooking, family gatherings and was an avid reader. She devoted much of her time and energy on her children, grandchildren, late mother and siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Chattman Miles of Goose Creek, SC; two sons: Ritchie E. Martin and Kenneth H. Martin, both of Summerville; two brothers: Jerald D. Cauthen (Lisa) of Charleston, SC and Robert Edward "Pete" Cauthen (Sharon) of Johns Island, SC; five sisters: Joy C. Cordray (John) of James Island, Carolyn C. Auvil (Allan) of Greenville, SC, Nancy C. Willetts of Camden, SC, Jackie C. Bennett of Dublin, GA, and Nita C. Childers (Larry) of Mauldin, SC; two grandchildren: Ashley Renea Miles and Kenny Anthony Martin; loving friend, Harvey L Martin; many nieces, nephews, cousins and two loving aunts.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Roy James Chattman and brother, Thomas William Cauthen.
