Margaret Ann Cate

Margaret Ann Cate, 69, of North Charleston, SC died Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Her funeral service will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Margaret was born December 18, 1945 in Laramie, Wyoming, daughter of the late Charles Ernest Cate and the late Ina Martha Jollay Cate. She was a 1964 graduate of North Charleston High School and earned an Associate Degree in nursing from Trident Technical College.

She is survived by her three children: James Timothy Phillips of Myrtle Beach, Melissa Ann "Misty" Phillips (John Earl Chambers) of Sapulpa, OK and Kevin Douglas Phillips of Myrtle Beach; one brother, James Cate of Lawrenceville, GA; three sisters, Evelyn Hodge of Crossville TN, Martha Blair of Goose Creek and Dorothy Gambrell of Fort Mill; two grandchildren, Martha Amber Nicole Pace and Justin Jordan Matthew Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Thomas Winn "Buddy" Phillips; three brothers, Eddie Cate, William Cate and Ralph Cate; sister, Mary Ellen Sparks and one grandson, Sgt. Johnathon Rhett Winn Hair, USMC.
