Margaret Brooks Rittenbury

June 14, 1928 — December 11, 2020

Margaret Brooks Rittenbury, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of the late Max S. Rittenbury, MD, entered into eternal rest Friday, December 11, 2020. Her Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Bethany Cemetery, 10 Cunnington Avenue, at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Margaret was born June 14, 1928 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Engle R. Brooks and Margaret Sorensen Brooks. She graduated from the College of Charleston and became a teacher. She was an active member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church for most of her life. Margaret took great joy in volunteering for Lutheran Social Services (now known as Tri County Family Ministries) as well as doting on her grandchildren and loved being with her cats.

She is survived by her daughters, Julia Anne Rittenbury, CPC and Margaret Elizabeth Rittenbury, MD, both of Charleston, SC and four grandchildren, Court S. Rittenbury, Max Lesslie, Pharm. D., Maggie Van Zile and Carolyn Sorensen.
