With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we share the passing of Marco Paulo Negreiros-a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and an inspiration to so many.

Marco Paulo was soulmate, best friend, and the love of Melissa Cooley Negreiros’ life, and a proud, devoted father to Maxton (20), Lillian (15), and Sophia Kate (11). His family was at the center of everything he did. He showed his love not just in words, but in presence-in the way he supported, protected, and uplifted those closest to him.

Marco Paulo carried a light that was impossible to miss. With his warm smile and magnetic spirit, he made people feel welcome, valued, and at ease. He embraced life fully, finding joy in music, art, laughter, and meaningful connection. Whether playing instruments or gathering people together, he had a gift for creating moments that felt alive and unforgettable.

Born and raised in Brazil, Marco held tightly to his roots, bringing the richness of his culture into every space he entered. His warmth, energy, and deep sense of connection reflected the pride he carried for where he came from. Even as he built his life in the United States after moving here in the early 2000s, his love for his family in Brazil remained constant and strong.

Marco was also a gifted creative and designer, with a natural eye for beauty, detail, and innovation. Through his work with ECL Design, he didn’t just build a business-he brought ideas to life. His creativity was an extension of who he was: thoughtful, expressive, and intentional. Whether in his professional work or everyday life, he had a way of seeing potential and shaping it into something meaningful.

He will be remembered for the way he made people feel-for his generosity of spirit, his loyalty, and his ability to bring others together. His presence filled rooms, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be replaced.

Marco’s legacy lives on in his wife, his children, his mother, Mara Rubia Oliveira da Costa, his father, Manuel Negreiros Gomes (in memoriam), his sister, Virlane Negreiros, and his brothers, Tiago Negreiros, Italo Negreiros, Manuel Negreiros Jr., and Rômulo Negreiros, along with his extended family in Brazil and the United States, and the many friends whose lives were better because of him.

He will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Marco’s memory to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
