Marcia Stockton Boykin Spainhour, 75, of Hollywood, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday, October 10, 2025. Her Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Christ-St. Paul's Church, 4981 Chapel Road, Hollywood, SC. at 11:00 am, a reception will follow at 12:00 pm. The committal will be held at 2:00 pm at Christ Church, Adams Run, SC.
Marcia was born September 19, 1950, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lemuel Whitaker Boykin, III and Elizabeth Ravenel (Cain) Boykin. She was devoted to her Christian faith and a faithful Daughter of the King. She was an avid reader, loved to paint, crochet, and in her day was passionate about drama work, especially with Youth. Before graduating St. Pauls High School, Meggett, SC skipping two grades she and her sister were noted as having the highest SAT scores attained for the school at that time. She loved to sing. She began college at age 15, and was a graduate of Winthrop University with a double major in history and English, a minor in Home Economics. She taught middle school for years, working creatively with all students. She had a kind and generous spirit often offering whatever she had to help those in need.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Cantey Wills Spainhour of Edisto Island, SC (Keith); grandchildren, Alana Breaker, Jackson Wingard, Hawkins Hanson, Skylar Spainhour; dear friend and father of Cantey and Avery, The Rev. John Robert Spainhour; sister, Elizabeth Ravenel (Boykin) Byrd; sister-in-law, Nancy Boykin; many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Eleanor Avery Ravenel Spainhour; brother, Lemuel Whitaker Boykin IV; many beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family members.
Memorials may be made to TTC Trident Technical College Eleanor Avery Ravenel Spainhour Culinary Scholarship and the Charleston Youth Company.
