Marcia Ann Hessert

Marcia Ann Hessert, 76, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 1, 2021. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc, West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC 29414.

Marcia was born March 1, 1945 in Frackville, Pennsylvania, daughter of Michael John Stetts and Sophia Stetts. After high school she entered Albert Einstein Medical Center, graduating as a registered nurse, and most recently worked at Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health. While working at Hahnemann University Hospital, she met her husband, Dr. Col. Edmund Hessert, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1978. Marcia is survived by her two sons; Edmund C Hessert III, Michael B Hessert; two sisters, Michele Shinn, Deborah Stetts; and brother, Michael Stetts; three grandchildren; Katelyn, Edmund IV, and Leigha; great-grandson Ruben; a stepdaughter, Adria, and step-grandchildren, Joe, Edmund, Steven, and Alexis.

All who loved her dearly will never forget her compassion, wit, charm, grace, and unconditional love and friendship. She loved the fine arts, reading, travel, and was an avid ballroom dancer at Ballroom Dance Charleston. In addition, she co-owned a ladies clothing boutique, Marchele's LTD, with her sister for 10 years.
