Marcelle Megally Gorgy, 90, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Zaghloul Yacoub entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 13, 2020. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 in the Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, Mount Pleasant at 2:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Marcelle was born July 8, 1930 in Cairo, Egypt, daughter of the late Megally Gorgy and the late Mary Shehata. She was a physician and a Coptic Orthodox Christian. She was a kind, compassionate woman of prayer.

She and her husband Zaghloul were married for 46 years at the time of his death in 2014. She is survived by their son, Sherif Yacoub and his wife Elena of Mt Pleasant, SC; her brother, Mounir Gorgy of England; and two grandchildren, Sophia Yacoub and Veronica Yacoub of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
