Maradee Lowrey, 90, died June 1st after a short illness. Originally from Louisiana, where she taught English for 20 years, she had lived in Charleston since the death of her husband, James M. Lowrey, in 2006.
She is survived by a daughter, Carla Lowrey (Gary Faber) of Charleston; two sons, James M. Lowrey, Jr., of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Jack M. Lowrey (Nicki) of Charleston; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4th, in the Chapel at Bishop Gadsden, One Bishop Gadsden Way, James Island. The family will receive friends in the Myers Hall Living Room 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be Wednesday, June 6th, in The Old Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, Louisiana.
