Mandalee Garris Taylor, 98, of Charleston, SC, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Wilmington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, NC.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Edwin Taylor in 1975. Mrs. Taylor was an active member of Rutledge Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by her son, Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Vernon L. Fash (U.S.A.F. Retired) and daughter-in-law Byrdie Fash; two grandsons, Jim Fash and wife, Rita and Robert Fash, all of Wilmington, NC. Mrs. Taylor was the last survivor of ten children born to Ida Belding Garris and Manning Garris. She had one brother, William Garris and eight sisters: Mabel Bussey, Idalee McLemore, Thelma Garris, Beaulah Parks, Lessie Smith, Inez King, Marguerite Alexander and Evelyn Baldwin. Surviving are six nieces: Jewel Hebert, Kathleen Perry, Edith McLemore, Dorothy Brent, Grace King and Valerie Britton; seven nephews: Eddie Alexander, Louis Alexander, Kenneth Alexander, David King, William Garris, Charles Garris and Ronald Garris.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Bethany Cemetery in Charleston, SC by Dr. Frank Cone. Local arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
