Franklin Edward Mayo, 73, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Judith Winebriner Mayo died Tuesday, January 2, 2018. His memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 10:00 am until time of the service.
Frank- or Moe as he was known by close friends and family- was born January 9, 1944 in Covington, Virginia, son of the late Dewey Mayo and the late Thelma Bryant Mayo. He was a 20 year retired Major from the United States Air Force and went on to work as an Electrical Engineer and Consultant for SAIC Systems. Frank was a dedicated husband and father. He and Judy served others always and gave to and supported countless mission trips and organizations as they saw fit. They also served together with East Cooper Meals on Wheels. He attended Seacoast Community Church in Mount Pleasant.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, of 52 years; two daughters, Jill Forbes (Heath) of Hanahan, SC and Amy Eddins (Jason) of Chesterfield, SC; two brothers, Paul Mayo of Lenoir City, TN, and Mike Mayo of Staunton, VA; five grandchildren, Will Forbes, Micah Forbes, Lydia Forbes, Judd Eddins and Isaac Eddins.
