Madelyn Mitchum Rozier Stabovitz, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Elbert M. Rozier, Sr., and wife of Peter C. Stabovitz entered into eternal rest Friday, October 9, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 12, 2015, in First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Madelyn was born March 2, 1924 in Bethera, SC, daughter of the late Edward D. Mitchum and Shelly Wyndham Mitchum. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ close to 70 years and was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star. She retired as a clerk from Frederick Richard's Importing and Exporting Company.
She is survived by her husband, Peter C. Stabovitz of Charleston, SC, daughter, Rita Allyson Rozier of Charleston, SC, two sons, Elbert M. Rozier, Jr., (Judith) of Johns Island, SC, Harry E. Rozier, Sr., (Crystal) of James Island, SC, sister, Ellen M. Yon (Marion) of Charleston, SC, two step-daughters, Anna Frangos (Danny) and Janet Stabovitz; six grandchildren, Michelle Hewitt (Michael), Elbert M. "Bert" Rozier., III (Kelly), Harry E. "Eddie" Rozier, Jr., (Amy), Thomas Williams, Jr., Danielle Banch (Brendon), and Derek Frangos (Catherine); six great-grandchildren, Anna, Rhyan, Manning, Madeleine, and Allison Rozier, and Rosialie Banch.
