Mable Alberta Metts

Mable Alberta "Bert" Metts, 90, of North Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Charlottesville, VA surrounded by family. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 10:00 a.m. Interment following will be in St. George Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.

Bert was born May 12, 1928 in St. George, South Carolina, daughter of the late Holcombe Smith and Alma Kizer Smith. She was a member of Ferndale Baptist Church for 55 years, teaching Sunday School and working in the Ferndale Baptist Daycare for 27 years. Bert was currently attending North Trident Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters: Melba Moskal (Michael "Moose") of Summerville, SC, Wanda Smith (Steve) of North Charleston, SC, Diane Holloway (Jerry) of Arlington, MN, and Cheryl Owen (Walter) of Ruckersville, VA; son, William "Billy" Metts of Marietta, GA; sister, Thelma Salley of Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren: Michael Moskal, Melanie Mercer, Shannon Smith, Sharron Field, Jerel Holloway, Jody Holloway, James Owen, and Steven Owen; twelve great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Krystal, Austin, Wyatt, Christopher, Luke, Bella, Isaac, Kurt, Alina, Olivia, and Luke; and several nieces and nephews.
