Mabel Baltzegar McMillan

Mabel Elizabeth Baltzegar McMillan, 98, wife of the late Obed McMillan of North Charleston, SC passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. The relatives and friends of Mabel McMillan are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the graveside on Sunday, November 13, 2011 in Carolina Memorial Park at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR NORTH AREA CHAPEL. The family will greet friends at the North Area Chapel on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 1:30 until 2:30.

Mabel was born on September 14, 1913 in Dovesville, South Carolina, daughter of the late William W. Baltzegar and Betty Ross Baltzegar. She attended Winthrop College and graduated form Flora McDonald College. Mrs. McMillan taught in Cooper River Schools District for twenty years. She was a member of North Charleston United Methodist church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class, Frances Major Circle, Potpourri Missions Group and was a member of the Charleston County Retired Teachers Association. She was a devoted mother and loved music and being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Marilyn Zeigler (Harry), of North Charleston, SC, Douglas McMillan of Charleston, SC and Dale McMillan (Pamela), of North Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Jason McMillan (Tambrea), Jamey McMillan (Stacey) and Ty Zeigler; great grandchildren, Ben, Katie, Michael, and Gracey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Obed McMillan, her daughter, Betsy McMillan and her sister, Wakefield Mahaffey.
