Lyra Lee Anderson Kirby

Lyra Lee Anderson Kirby, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, loving wife of James Earl Kirby, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 1, 2015. The relatives and friends of Lyra Kirby are invited to attend her funeral service at the graveside on Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, at 2:00 pm. Mrs. Kirby was born July 23, 1934 in Florence County, South Carolina, daughter of the late Robert E. Anderson and the late Nell Kirby Anderson. She worked as an Office Administrator in Life Insurance. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved to spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James E. Kirby, Sr.; son, James E. Kirby, Jr. and his wife, Orie; grandchildren, Jonathan Matthew Kirby and his wife, Lisa, and Jamie Kirby Owen and her husband, Matthew; step grandchildren, Malcolm Sands Jenkins and Grayson Elizabeth Daniels and her husband, Drew; two great grandchildren, Genevieve Kimberly Owen (3) and Miles Raymond Kirby (8 mos). She also has two brothers, Billy D. Anderson and his wife, Carolyn and Herschel Anderson; one sister, Nelda A. Brabham and her husband, Matthew; and one sister-in-law, Inez Crowell.
