Lynn Marie Newkirk, 58, of Ladson, South Carolina, wife of George E. Newkirk entered into eternal rest Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Her Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 in The Chapel at The Village of Summerville, 201 W 9th North Street at 1:30 P.M. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Lynn was born April 9, 1959 in Ransomville, New York, daughter of Wilma Moore Lawson and the late Lt. Colonel Charles L. Lawson. She was an associate of the Charleston Hospitality Group in a supervisor's position, first at Tabbuli in downtown Charleston, and later at Toast Restaurant of Summerville, SC.
Lynn loved working with people, and established many great friendships wherever she was. She was ready with a smile,
and had the ability to make a person's day better with her cheerful nature. An avid reader, she also enjoyed traveling. Vacations would be spent either in the mountains or on a stretch of beach.
She is survived by her husband, George; mother, Wilma Moore Lawson of Summerville, SC; daughter, Sarah Alise Newkirk of Summerville, SC; son, Matthew T. Lyons of Summerville, SC; sister, Victoria Almaguer (Steven) of Abilene, TX; and two brothers: Charles L. Lawson (Sandra) of Columbia, SC and David Lawson (Dawn) of Summerville, SC. She is also survived by an uncle, Jimmy Lawson of Austin, Texas; an aunt, Laverne Grimes of Ludowici, GA; nephews, Jay Witkowski of Charleston, SC, Tanner Lawson of Summerville, SC, and niece Carson Lawson of Summerville, SC.
