Lynn Kruger Mitchell

Lynn Kruger Mitchell passed away on January 17, 2024. 

Lynn was a proud Charleston native and loved living here. She graduated from Georgetown University in 1975, where she formed a close lifelong friendship with her roommates. She worked for years as the comptroller of St Andrew’s Anglican Church. 

She is survived by her son Ryan (Julia), her grandchildren, Peter and Alice, her sister Anita (Norman), her niece Catherine (Bryson), her nephew Ian (Rachel), and her aunts Doris (Daniel) Benke and Dora (Michael) O’Bryan. She is predeceased by her parents Veronica “Ronnie” Benke and Adolph “Buddy” (Sally) Kruger and by her sister Karen. 

She was the kindest person any of us had ever met, and her calmness and peacefulness in the face of her decline inspired everyone around her. We are all better for having known her. 

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in Grace Hall at Christ Our King Catholic Church on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 10:30 am with interment to follow at Mt Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Michael J.
