Lynn Snow
Curry
September 29, 1936 – May 25, 2026
Lynn Snow Curry, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, went to heaven on May 25, 2026. Born in Spartanburg, SC, on September 29, 1936, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Alden Snow and Grace Hutto Snow.
Lynn spent her youth in North Carolina, where she attended Myers Park High School and Brevard Junior College. She then followed her passion for helping others, earning her nursing degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. Lynn went on to serve her community as a dedicated nurse at County Hospital in Charleston for many years.
Charleston’s coast held a special place in Lynn's heart and shaped the course of her life. It was on the beach at Sullivan’s Island that she met her husband, Bobby. The couple was married in 1957 at Asbury United Methodist Church on Rutledge Avenue. In 1965, they built their first and only home in the Groves of Mt. Pleasant, where they raised their four children.
Lynn embraced the coastal lifestyle to the fullest. She and Bobby loved boating and spent countless summers camping with their children at Capers Inlet. Lynn was happiest when surf fishing, crabbing, and flounder gigging. She and Bobby also shared a love for music and movement as active members of the Charleston Shag Club, dancing through life together. Lynn and Bobby were always very active in church and led many youth group activities over the years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Curry was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Curry, and by her sister, Sally Elizabeth Snow.
Her legacy of love, adventure, and devotion lives on through her family. She is survived by her youngest sister, Susan Snow Matthews of Bluffton, SC; and her four children: Joyce Curry Treece (Terry), Paul Ashley Curry (Anjie), John Andrew Curry (Kelly), and Susan Curry. She was the grandmother of nine grandchildren: Connor and Cole Treece; Claire Curry Schrieks (Chris) and Neily Curry Sutler (Will); Ben Curry; Curry Watts (Mallorie) and Calleigh Watts; and Jack and Hampton Curry. She was the great-grandmother of George Sutler.
The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate her life in lieu of a formal funeral service.
Memorials may be made in her honor to Lutheran Homes of South Carolina Foundation, Inc., 300 Ministry Drive, Irmo, SC 29063-2366.
Arrangements are by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. A memorial message may be sent to the family on our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
