Lyndsey Oliver Swicord Thaxton, of Daniel Island, wife of Kyle Rawls Thaxton, and Vice President/CFO of Allen and Webb, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011.
A Celebration of Lyndsey's Life will be held Sunday, October 2, 2011 in the Church of the Holy Cross, 2520 Middle Street, Sullivan's Island, at 4 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. The family will receive friends at the residence of Lyndsey's parents, Charles and Rhetta Swicord, 1722 Otis Pickett Court, Sullivan's Island, Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 6 until 8 pm.
Lyndsey was born in Charleston, South Carolina on March 10, 1980. She was a 1998 graduate of Porter Gaud School. She was a 2002 cum laude graduate from the College of Charleston with a degree in Political Science. Lyndsey was a beautiful ray of sunshine to every path she crossed. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She had an uncanny grasp for business, running her father's company with feminine finesse; we can still hear the clicking of her heels in the halls of the office.
Lyndsey was the mother of the two most precious children; son Kyle Rawls Thaxton II, age 3, and daughter Hunter Grey Thaxton, age 17 months. She is also survived by her husband, Kyle Rawls Thaxton, of Daniel Island, her parents, Charles and Rhetta Swicord of Sullivan's Island, sisters, Melissa Swicord Daniel and her husband, Jim, of Mt. Pleasant, and Amy Swicord Garfunkel and her husband, Charlie, of Savannah. Also, Mother-in-law, Jessie Jordan Thaxton of Daniel Island, brother-in-law, Jordan A. Thaxton and his wife, Jenny, of Charleston, SC, aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene F. Oliver of Pinopolis, SC, Dr. and Mrs. John H. Swicord of Pinopolis, SC, and Mr. and Mrs. S. Paul Swicord of Summerville, SC, also 9 nieces and nephews, Grace, Benjamin, Caroline, Will, Chase, Hayes, Whitt, Tucker, and Grace.
