Lynda Miller Lipscomb

Lynda Miller Lipscomb, 77, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Ernest Bainbridge Lipscomb III, entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 1, 2021. Her Funeral Service will be held in First (Scots) Presbyterian, Church, 53 Meeting on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Interment, Magnolia Cemetery. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Lynda was born November 15, 1943 in Sylacauga, Alabama, daughter of the late Edward L. Miller and Margaret Collins Miller.

After graduating from Huntingdon College Lynda obtained her master's degree in guidance counseling from the University of Mississippi. After teaching in Charleston for several years she moved with her family to Rye, New York where she became an antiques dealer specializing in American Federal Furniture and Chinese export armorial porcelain. Lynda loved gardening and after returning to Charleston she served two terms on the board of the Charleston Horticultural Society. She was also active in preservation and was on the National Advisory Counsel of the Charleston Historic Foundation. Lynda was a member of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest Bainbridge Lipscomb III of Charleston, SC; son, Charles Bainbridge Lipscomb (Rebecca) of Potomac, MD; daughter, Caroline Hampton Ernst (Peter) of Bryn-Mawr, PA; 3 grandchildren: Katherine, Sarah and Alexandra and a brother, Edward C. Miller (April) of Birmingham, AL.
