Lydia Moore Miller, 96, of Ravenel, formerly of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of William Thomas Miller, Sr., passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm at J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. Interment to follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until time of service.Lydia was born August 19, 1916 in Lebanon, SC, daughter of the late William C. Moore and Lydia C. Moore of Lebanon, SC and the adopted daughter of the late Nellie C. and Jacob T. Bair of Charleston, SC. Lydia was a member of Asbury- St. James United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, United Daughters of the Confederacy Chapter #4, the King's Daughters "Who's My Neighbor Circle", and was retired from the Charleston City Police Department as Supervisor of the Records Department.She was predeceased by her sister, Audrey Moore Pickens; brothers, Charles, Ronald, Renvic Hope, and Willice Moore; and special cousin, Louise Dunlap of Hendersonville, NC.Lydia has two children, Hope Miller Mixson (Dan) of Ravenel, SC and William Thomas (Bill) Miller, Jr. (Pam) of Loganville, GA; grandchildren, Rene' Mixson Brown (Kevin) of Summerville, Danny Mixson (Sandy) of James Island, Kelle Mixson Skipper (Tony) of Daniel Island, William T. (Billy) Miller III, Robert Miller and Brian Miller (Desta) of Loganville, GA; 12 great-grandchildren; and special cousins, Margie Mabry of Charleston, and Bob Dunlap of Hendersonville, NC.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Asbury- St. James United Methodist Church, 754 Rutledge Avenue, Charleston, SC 29403.
