Lucy Tallon Melton, 77, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of Lucius H."Bill" Melton entered into eternal rest Monday, May 18, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Friday, May 22, 2015 at the graveside in Johns Island Presbyterian Churchyard, 2550 Bohicket Road , at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in Johns Island Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Lucy was born May 16, 1938 in Florence, SC, daughter of the late Clarendon B. Tallon and Lucy Johnston Tallon. She was a graduate of Columbia College and was a retired school teacher with Sea Island Academy.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lucius H. Melton, Jr. of Johns Island, SC; daughter, Leslie (Daryl) Elder of Johns Island, SC; son, Lucius H. (Heather) Melton, III of Adams Run, SC; two sisters, Dorothy T. Arnts of Huntsville, AL, and Barron T. Burch of Cleveland, TN; three grandchildren, Nicole Phelps, Lucius M. Melton, and Logan M. Melton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charleston Collegiate School, 2024 Academy Drive, Johns Island, SC 29455
