Lucy Neff Hilton, beloved Mother, grand lady and friend passed peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2010. Lucy will be laid to rest in her beloved home of Norfolk, Virginia. Farewell grand lady, we are all the better for having been a part of your life.
Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Lucy was born January 13, 1919 in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Clarence A. Neff and Lucy Latone Thom Neff. Lucy reluctantly left Bay Point Florida, to live in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina for the last six years of her amazing life. Her heart remained in Florida where she was loved and admired by a wonderful group of friends. Lucy lived this life as gracefully as any woman ever has or shall. Those of us blessed by her charm, wit, wisdom and charisma will miss her.
Lucy leaves her two sons, John J Hilton, III and his wife Linda, of Hollywood, South Carolina, and Cameron T. Hilton and his wife, Janet of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Lucy is also survived by two equally beautiful and charming granddaughters, Laura Hilton James and her husband, Rob of North Charleston, South Carolina, and Katherine Anne Thom Hilton of Denver Colorado. Lucy leaves two great grand children, Zachary and Ella James. Three wonderful friends and companions sadly send their farewell love to Lucy: Sarah B. Merritt of North Charleston, South Carolina, Genet Robinson of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina and Mona Jordan of North Charleston, South Carolina. Their relationship surpassed the bounds of care giving in ways only they understand.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to either The Omaha Home for Boys www.omahahomeforboys.org, 4343 North 52nd Street, Omaha, NE 68104 or your charity of choice.
