Lucille Wohltmann Hightower

Lucille (Lucy) Wohltmann Hightower of Mount Pleasant, SC, entered the church triumphant surrounded by her family on February 25, 2023. Born May 22, 1929, she was 93 years old. Lucy was the daughter of the late John D and Emma Mohrmann Wohltmann. She was married for 75 years to William (Bill) R. Hightower. Lucy was a graduate of Memminger High School and The College of Charleston. In her career in accounting she worked for Mt. Pleasant Boat Building, Joe Shishko Company, and Roberts Supply Company.

She was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant and a member of SC Via de Cristo. She was an avid player of bridge, passionate about investing and watching the stock market and researching her family tree often finding lost or unknown relatives. She loved to laugh with a dry wit and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. Most of all she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Besides her husband, Bill, she is survived by her children Liz McMillan (Ken) of Isle of Palms, Anne White (Ron) of Leesville, SC and Richard Hightower (Deb) of Hartsville, SC, four grandsons Kirk McMillan, Sean McMillan, Matthew McMillan, and Bill Hightower and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters Mildred W. Wells, Elsa W. Coleman, and Hulda J. Wohltmann.

Funeral will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant, SC March 9, 2023 at 11 AM with visitation at 10AM.
