Lucile Hyde Wehman, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, widow of Ernest Arnold Wehman, Sr., entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Her Requiem Mass will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 in The Church of The Holy Communion, 218 Ashley Avenue, at 1:00 p.m. Interment, private. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel.
Lucile was born March 22, 1921 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Joseph Bell Hyde and Lucile Norment Hyde. She was a graduate of the College of Charleston and taught at Ashley Hall for 23 years. Lucile was also a partner in a printing business, Patch of Pines, for over 30 years and volunteered at East Cooper Hospital for many years. She was a member of The Church of the Holy Communion, the Ladies Benevolent Society, and the Ladies Fuel Society.
She is survived by her children, Lucile Wehman Dinge (Carl) of Ridgeville, SC, Lila Wehman Robinson (Leon) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Ernest "Buddy" A. Wehman, Jr. (Sue) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, James Clarence Hopke, Jr., Joseph August Hopke, David Ernest Robinson, Joseph Matthew Robinson, and Sarah Robinson Evans; six great-grandchildren, Wehman Albert Hopke, David Ernest Robinson, Jr., Andrew Gammon Robinson, Hannah Dreher Hopke, Logan Hyde Evans, and Caroline Elizabeth Evans.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Lila Shore, and a granddaughter, Lila Hyde.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Franke at Seaside and Lutheran Hospice for their care and kindness.
