Lt. Col. William Arthur Snow, II, (USA, Ret.), 66, of Daniel Island, South Carolina, husband of Eleanor Copeland Snow passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 with his wife by his side. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, May 7, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 1:00 pm with Rev. Frank Copeland officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 in Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 2:00 pm with full military honors. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Buckhall United Methodist Church, Manassas, Virginia at 1:00 PM.
William was born November 16, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, son of the late Rev. William Josiah Snow, II and Margaret Valliant Snow. He was a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and was a retired Lt. Colonel with the United States Army. William was awarded the following: Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th Award), and Parachutist Badge. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. Faith, Hope and Love were powerful in his life. His strength was an inspiration to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, of 43 years, Eleanor C. Snow of Daniel Island, SC; his mother, Margaret Snow of Orangeburg, SC; three sons, William Ryan Snow (Sarah) of Norfolk, VA, Matthew Copeland Snow (Jaime) of Ruckersville, VA, and Benjamin Arthur Snow (Holly) of Washington, DC; one daughter, Bethany Snow Myers (Joseph) of Daniel Island, SC; nine grandchildren, Zoey Snow, Piper Snow, Jonathan Snow, Dylan Snow, Isabel Snow, Nolan Myers, Avery Myers, Vincent Myers, Elise Myers and step-grandchildren, Ashton, Jared, Kristen and Jessica Baldwin; three sisters, Elizabeth Lee Snow of Chapin, SC, Cathy Snow and Ginger Snow, both of Orangeburg, SC; two brothers-in-law, Ed Copeland (Sue) of Eastover, SC and Rev. Frank Copeland of Orangeburg, SC. He was preceded in death by his father, father-in-law & mother-in-law, William and Agnes Copeland.
