Lt. Col. Edward Holden Green (USAF, Ret.), 81, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Louise Devoll Gardner Green died Tuesday, March 19, 2019. His memorial service was held on Saturday, April 13, 2019, in Rodenberg Chapel (Franke at Seaside), 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant at 2:00 pm. His inurnment will be on Friday, June 21, 2019 in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mt. Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Ed was born May 25, 1937 in Framingham, Massachusetts, son of the late Howard Dustin Green and the late Isabelle Tyler Green. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and MBA degree from Michigan State University. Ed served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and after retiring from the military, he worked for the Kiawah Island Company in the executive office. From Kiawah to Keowee Lake, Ed founded friendships based on humor and love of golf. His lifelong love of bird watching began on the road to becoming an Eagle Scout. Wherever he lived, Ed readily served on the boards of the associations that made those communities thrive.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise Green of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Elaine Powell of Concord, NH; two nephews, Glen Powell of Canterbury, NH and Scott Powell of Meredith, NH; and a niece, Linda Hammill of Townsend, MA.
