Bernard Charles Krafsig, 63, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Laurie A.Ciccarelli Krafsig entered into eternal rest Friday, January 8, 2021. His Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Bernard was born February 6, 1957 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, son of the late Bernard Carl Krafsig and the late Helen Koytek Krafsig. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on submarines. He then entered officer candidate school receiving his commission and ultimately retired as a Lieutenant. Following his naval career, he worked at Bishop Gadsden as Information Technology Director for 23 years. He enjoyed spending time with family, bicycling, the beach, lighthouses, traveling, and especially traveling to Maine.
In addition to his wife, Laurie, he is survived by his children, William and Dr. Anne Krafsig, Bernard II and Naomi Krafsig, Jonathan and Pheraby Krafsig, Christopher Santopino, Angela Santopinto, and Robert Santopinto; grandchildren, DaShawn Santopinto, Mary Katherine Krafsig, Oliver Krafsig, Ethan Krafsig, Clementine Krafsig, Levi Krafsig and Destiny Clarke; sisters, Mary Ann Briner and spouse Lee Briner, Judy Kearney and spouse Paul Kearney; and numerous beautiful nieces and nephews. Bernard is also survived by their four furbabies.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine Krafsig Kreuzburg.
