Louise Smith Rogers, 80, of Charleston, South Carolina passed away October 19, 2011.
Born August 30, 1931 in Forsyth, Georgia, Louise was the daughter of the late John Henry Smith and Hattie Calhoun Smith. As a former nursing companion and a member of James Island Christian Church, Louise was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her siblings: Marvin Smith, Johnnie Henderson-Davis, Rev. Alonzo O. Smith, of Forsyth, GA; Horace Smith of Macon, GA; and Willie James Smith of Atlanta, GA and her mothers-in-law: Lena Fambro Smith and Annie Chambliss Smith. She is survived by her daughter: Rosa Lampkin of Charleston; step-sisters: Elizabeth Stephens of Forsyth, GA and Evelyn Williams of Decatur, GA; grandchildren: Michael Brice Lampkin of Charleston, Ian Christian Lampkin of Columbia and Evan Matthew Lampkin of Charleston; sisters-in-law: Ethel Smith of Macon, GA and Shirley Evans Smith of Forsyth, GA.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be conducted at J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 12pm. Burial services will be held later.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to James Island Christian Church, 12 Sawgrass Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
