Louise L. Ittig, 93, of North Charleston, SC, widow of William P. Ittig, died Friday,
July 15, 2011 in a local hospital.
Born December 20, 1917 in Carbondale, Indiana, daughter of the late Milhouse Livingston and Agnes B. Livingston.
Louise received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1942 from Northwestern University School of Speech and her Teachers College Professional Diploma in December 1969 from Columbia University. She was a former Associate Professor of English at the University of New Mexico and the University of West Virginia. Louise taught for 25 years for Nassau BOCES, Hearing Impaired Program and previously taught English at Massapequa High School.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeannette Ittig, and a son, daughter, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren residing out of state.
Visitation will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC, Monday, July 18th and Tuesday, July 19, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in Summerville Presbyterian Church, where she was a longtime member, on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 10:00 AM.; Reverend Lamar Carney will be officiating the service. Interment will be held in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, New York.
