Louis Edward Williams, 86, recently of Concord, NC, and a long-time resident of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, in Atlanta, GA after a long battle with lung cancer.
The relatives and friends of Louis Williams are invited to attend his Graveside Service on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Captain Louis was born October 31, 1929, in Berkeley County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Lurlie Brinson Williams and Charles Williams. Captain Louis had a long career as a commercial shrimper and fisherman. The biggest joy of his life was his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Virginia Kelley Williams. Captain Louis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a self-made man and provided for his family, friends and neighbors. Captain Louis loved the ocean and every dog and cat. He enjoyed working on mechanical equipment and reading Louis L'Amour westerns.
The Captain is survived by one son, Melvin Zandie Williams and his wife, Cynthia, of Concord, NC; one daughter, Rose Marie Hardman of Atlanta, GA; and three grandchildren, Michele Marie Isaacs, Russell Louis Williams, and Charlton Lee Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn.
