Louis Charles Rasmussen, 95, died March 8, 2024, in Charleston, SC. He was born June 28, 1928, to Lauritz and Anna Rasmussen in NY, NY.

Louis was the loving father of Louis (Gini), Kurt, Jan, and Lisa Rasmussen; grandfather of Erin, Brian (Jackie), Anne and Dana Rasmussen, and Louis LeGarde Smith; and great-grandfather of Elliot, Isla, and Hazel Rasmussen, Luca Rasmussen Shah, and Aiden Ellis. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cecile D. Rasmussen.  

Louis graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he obtained his degree in electrical  engineering. He obtained his Master of Business Administration from New York University and Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Louis was also a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He spent his career in electrical engineering and finance with the Kansas City Power and Light Company.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. March 13, 2024, at Sts. Frederick and Stephen Catholic Church in Edisto Island, SC. Burial will take place at noon, March 14 at Beaufort National Cemetery.
