Louis Kirshtein, 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Sara Sneg Kirshtein entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 3, 2021. His funeral service will be held at the graveside Thursday, August 5, 2021 in Brith Sholom Beth Israel Cemetery (Maryville), Sycamore Avenue at 10:00 a.m. The service may viewed via YouTube Livestream at: https://youtu.be/AtBcMPD8M_0. Louis was born October 16, 1926 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Abraham Kirshstein and Edith Cohn Kirshtein. He was Co-Owner of Dixie Furniture Company. Louis served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was very active in his Synagogue, Brith Sholom Beth Israel and served on the Board of Trustees for Addleston Hebrew Academy.
Louis is survived by two daughters: Linda Kirshtein Shabat (Courtney Colletti) of Doylestown, PA and Lisa Kirshtein Schkloven (David) of Pikesville, MD; two brothers: Sam Kirshtein (Mitzi) and Sol Kirshtein (Joyce) both of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren: Jeremy Shabat (Susan), Edie Freimark (Shuie), Gabriel Shabat (Nadine), Joshua Kirshtein (Laura), Andrea Kimmel (Bob), Emma Schkloven and Judah Schkloven; and ten great-grandchildren: Rachel, Zoe, Sam, Sigil, Avi, River, Maya, Ryan, Alexa and Gavin.
