Entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 31, 2011 with his family around him, Dr. Louis Matthew Andria, husband of Leonora Sprain Andria. Residence, Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Dr. Andria was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 23, 1929, son of the late Matthew Louis Andriasevich and the late Lucy Sryzich Andriasevich. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois, School Dentistry and Department of Orthodontics. He was in a private Orthodontic practice in Rockford, Illinois for 38 years. He was a member of the prestigious Edward Angle Orthodontic Society and was also a charter member of the Rockford Cleft Palate Group. He and his wife retired to Kiawah Island in 1998. He then joined MUSC School of Dentistry as an adjunct professor in Orthodontic theory and was also a member of the MUSC Cleft Palate Group. He enjoyed being an orthodontist and a teacher. His orthodontic students were a very important part of his life. He enjoyed biking the many Kiawah bike paths and did so almost every day. He deeply loved his wife and his three children Jean, Matt and Mike and his three grandchildren Nick, Laura and Melena.
Memorials may be made in his memory to MUSC Foundation, School of Dentistry, 18 Bee Street, MSC 450, Charleston, SC 29425 and/or a charity of one's choice.
