Louie Fredrick Garvin, 92, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Virginia Nettles Garvin entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 22, 2015. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in First Baptist Church of Johns Island, 3483 Maybank Highway at 11:00 a.m.. Interment, Churchyard. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Louie was born August 16, 1923 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Samuel Garvin and Carrie Elizabeth Platt Garvin. He was the Founder of Louie & Sons Body Shop, Inc. and a member of First Baptist Church of Johns Island.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Virginia Nettles Garvin of Johns Island, SC; son, Louie F. Garvin, Jr and Sandra Young of Wadmalaw Island, SC; daughter, Carolyn G. Speights and her husband, Ray of Johns Island, SC; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and a daughter in law, Linda Garvin of Johns Island, SC. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald "Dute" Garvin.
