Lou Hinson Johnson

January 7, 1919 — March 20, 2011

Lou Hinson Johnson, 92, wife of the late Alvin C. Johnson of Summerville, SC, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011.  The relatives and friends of Lou Johnson are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. 


Mrs. Johnson was born January 7, 1919 in Fair Bluff, North Carolina, the last and youngest daughter of the late Avery Jasper Hinson and Artie Scott Hinson.  She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family and was always known as "Granny" to everyone. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.


She is survived by her seven children, Evelyn Eardley of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Alvin "Bo" Johnson and his wife, Clara, of Jacksonville, FL, Michael Johnson and his wife, Ann, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Barbara Lowe and her husband, Gene, of Sullivan's Island, SC, Nancy Wells of Summerville, SC, Mary Donovan and her husband, Don, of Mauldin, SC and Theresa Allen and her husband, Norman Allen, III, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sixteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Alvin C. Johnson, one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC  29407.
