Loretta Smith, 90, of Greenwood, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 28, 2025. Her Service will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at J. Henry Stuhr Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place one hour prior. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Loretta was born January 6, 1935 in Ruffin, South Carolina, daughter of the late J.B. Pellum and the late Bessie Pellum. She worked for many years as a newspaper carrier for Post & Courier in Charleston, SC. She loved gospel and country music, cooking big meals for her family, Elvis Presley music, and mostly family gatherings and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant, SC.

She is survived by one sister, Betty Maxey; her son, Marvin Joseph McCormack; daughters, Linda Dew (Marvin), Janada Jay, (Chris), grandchildren Josh McCormack, (Rebecca), Zara Rushin (Jeremy), Marty Dew (Lyndea), Brian Jay (Theresa), Lauren Jones, (Colton), great grands, Katie, Izzy, Brady, Dalton, Jay, and Lane.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smith, Jr., daughter, Monica Smith, and sister, Kathryn Dunkley.
