Loretta Rhea Schaffer

Loretta Rhea Weinstein Schaffer, 74, of Goose Creek, SC, wife of Jerome Schaffer, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, in a local nursing facility.

Born February 10, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY she was one of two children of Arthur Weston and Frances Lashinsky Weinstein.

Mrs. Schaffer is survived by her husband, Jerome Schaffer; three sons:  Marc Schaffer of Brunswick, OH, Craig Schaffer of Summerville, SC and Stuart Schaffer of Goose Creek, SC; one brother, Alan Weston of CA; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one on the way.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the Mausoleum Chapel at Carolina Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 1:30 until 2:30 PM in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the MUSC Foundation, Red Dress Cardiac Fund, 18 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29425 or the Jewish Community Center, 1645 Raoul Wallenberg Boulevard, Charleston, SC 29407.
