Lorene Hoppers Stewart Browning

Lorene Hoppers Stewart Browning, 87, widow of Robert L. Browning of Charleston, SC passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James H. Stewart. The relatives and friends of Lorene Browning are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the graveside on Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC, at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. The family will greet friends following the service.

Lorene was born on January 27, 1925 in Newton, North Carolina, daughter of the late George Charles Hoppers and Amelia Hodge Hoppers. She worked as a Sales Associate for Hamilton Jewelers. She was a long-time member of Creekside Christian Church in Charleston.

She is survived by her children, Jimmy Stewart and his wife, Angie, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Gail Stewart Hunnicutt and her husband, Fred, of Simpsonville, SC; six grandchildren, Shelley Stewart Boozer and her husband, Barret, Katie Stewart Padgett and her husband, Ricky, Lindsey A. Stewart, Lesli Hunnicutt Clyborne and her husband, Blake, Taylor S. Hunnicutt and Will J. Hunnicutt; and three great grandchildren, Caleb Boozer, Allie Boozer and Abigail Padgett. She is also survived by her brothers, Jack Hoppers, Howard Hoppers, and Charlie Hoppers. Also surviving are two sisters, Aggie Hulon and Bernice Mullis. She was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Hoppers, and her sister, Louise Stroupe.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter "Respite Services", 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407.
