Lorena Spell Likes, 93, widow of late Marvin Earl Likes entered into eternal rest on December 9, 2011. The relatives and friends of Lorena S. Likes are invited to attend her funeral service at the Graveside, Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 1:00 o'clock. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 12:00 noon until 12:30 PM prior to the service on Monday, December 12, 2011.
Lorena was born August 7, 1918, in Grover, SC, daughter of the late Charles Asbury Spell and Rosalie Utsey Spell. She attended the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg, SC. She attended Citadel Square Baptist Church which provided services for the deaf. She enjoyed Duke University basketball and the Atlanta Braves baseball games.
She is survived by her son, Michael E. Likes and his wife, Cindy of Charleston, two step-granddaughters, and seven step-great grandchildren; her two sisters, Charlotte Lusk of Grover, SC and Merilyn Lockwood of James Island, SC; two nieces, Myrl Kluge and Peggy Sue Fisk, and one nephew, Ricky Lusk. She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Spell and sister, Miriam Berry.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
