Entered into eternal rest on the morning of August 19, 2011, Loraine Smith McDaniel, widow of Luther A. McDaniel. Residence, Charleston, South Carolina. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services at John Wesley United Methodist Church, Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Saturday from 5 until 7 pm.
Mrs. McDaniel was born on May 18, 1921 in Socastee, South Carolina, daughter of the late William Harry and Rhoda McCormick Smith. She was an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church for over 60 years and member of the United Methodist Women. She was an avid cook and gardener and enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine M. Inabinette of North Charleston, Martha M. Gosnell and husband Wayne of Charleston; two sisters, Elwood Marro of Socastee, SC, Geraldine S. Bone of Columbia, SC; a sister-in-law, Olivia Smith of Socastee, SC; three grandchildren, Lisa Floyd and husband Tom, Brantley Inabinette and Sarah Gosnell; and three great grandchildren, Tricia Inabinette, Brayden and Collin Floyd. Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona McCormick and Inez Turbeville, a brother, William Smith, and a granddaughter, Eryan Gosnell.
