Loraine Heyward Kendrick, 90, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Donald Wayne Kendrick entered into eternal rest Monday, April 8, 2013. Her funeral services will be held at the graveside Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Avenue, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Loraine was born June 23, 1922 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Harvey Cuthbert Heyward and Elizabeth Howe Heyward. She was a graduate of Memminger High School. In addition to being an avid Bridge player, she was a member of the Colonial Dames, Garden Club of Charleston, D.A.R., Ladies Benevolent Society, and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana K. Mobley and her husband Jim of Charleston, SC; a granddaughter, Lauren Heyward Mobley of New York, NY; a grandson, James Tyler Mobley and his wife Abbie of Charleston, SC and her former daughter-in-law, Elaine Strickland. She was predeceased by her son, Donald Wayne Kendrick, Jr.
