Lora Green Moses, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, died peacefully Monday, March 28, 2016. Her Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 1, 2016, in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden at 2:00 PM. Born November 2, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY, Lora grew up in New Rochelle, NY. In the middle of her active career as Program Director on Aging for the National Center for Voluntary Action, she returned to the University of Oregon at Eugene earning her BS in Community Service/Community Affairs and her MS in Urban and Regional Planning and Gerontology. She was a strong woman with a quiet sense of humor and deep faith. She loved learning, reading, dance, music, singing, arranging flowers and traveling.
She is survived by her children, Oliver Buckingham of New York City; Lora Brewster "Brucie" Hopkins of Kansas City, MO, Christine Libeu of Long Beach, CA, Betsy Ringlaben of Bastrop, TX, Jan DeBruyne of Rockford, IL, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and her sister, Cynthia Grenfell. She is preceded in death by her brother, William D. Green, Jr. and her husband, Henry C. Moses.
