Lois Garten Seaman

October 18, 1930 — August 28, 2021

Lois Garten Seaman, 90, of Charleston, SC, a retired Postal Letter Carrier, died August 28, 2021 at home with her family nearby. Born October 18, 1930, she was the daughter of William Roland Tripp and Tensie Ada Milligan. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary 445, and Eastern Star. She was a loving caregiver to many people over the years, to include her mother, daughter, and husbands. She was an extremely hard worker and a good friend to many.

She is survived by her son, Paul Garten (Peggy); grandchildren, Stanley Garten (Quana), Michelle Roy (Sandip), Ewell Garten (Jessica), Carolynn Wright, and Charles Garten, Jr.; surrogate daughter, Kathy Thomas; and great-grandchildren, David Drawdy, Jr. and Kiyah Garten. Lois was Kiyah's guardian, and had taken loving care of her for the past 15 years.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Charles Garten and Robert Seaman; three children, Charles Michael Garten, Margie Garten McDaniel, and Clifton Garten. Many thanks to her caregivers from Home Instead and Roper St. Francis Hospice.

"It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you on the day God called you home."

Funeral services will be held September 4, 2021 at 10:00 am in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Everyone is required to wear a face mask. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. A lunch will be provided at the Mt. Pleasant VFW, 1411 Stuart Ingals Blvd., following the service.
