Lois Hood Middleton

Lois Ailene Hood Middleton, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Eulie Lee Middleton passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Her Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.

Lois was born June 24, 1920 in Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina, daughter of the late Henry T. Hood and Dula Stevens Hood. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, and loved to care for her camellias and azaleas. Known for her volunteer spirit, Lois volunteered with the Red Cross for over 20 years, as well as volunteering at the East Cooper Medical Center.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Middleton of Johns Island, SC and Eulie Lee Middleton II of Haiku, Maui, HI; her brothers, H.T. Hood of Lake Wacammaw, NC and Darl S. Hood and his wife, Hilda of Jacksonville, NC; her sister, Noelle H. Hargett of Sanford, NC; her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren . She was preceded in death by her husband, Eulie Lee Middleton, her grandson, Drew Middleton, and her daughter, JoAnn Middleton Roper.
