A lifelong Episcopalian, she was active in her churches in Beaver, Warren, and Columbia. At Trinity Cathedral, Columbia, she served on the board of the Bishop Finlay Chapter of the Daughters of the Holy Cross, as well as serving for over 40 years on the First Week Altar Guild. As her children left the nest, she joined the staff at the University of South Carolina Ticket Office and Bookstore, where she relished spending time with students and fellow staffers.

Lois is survived by her husband Bob and four children: Margaret MacNaughton of Neptune Beach, Florida, Lois (Alan) Edwards of Conway, South Carolina, Robert, Jr. (Beth) of Columbia, and Jeanne (Thomas) Buist of Mount Pleasant.
